Regent Circus bounces back after tumultuous pandemic
Swindon’s £50 million retail and leisure hub Regent Circus is bouncing back after a tumultuous couple of years.
Entertainments venue Boom: Battle Bar opened its massive 15,000 sq ft premises in four units at the weekend, offering adult-themed games including Bavarian axe throwing, electric darts, crazier golf, and beer pong.
The franchise owners have invested £1.5 million in the venture, which will create 50 jobs.
The opening follows the arrival of Korean barbecue restaurant Funky Grilla back in the summer – not long after cinema Cineworld started taking bookings again after Covid forced its closure for eight months.
Swindon Council heralded the arrival of Boom: Battle Bar: “Commercial investment in new ventures like this is a welcome boost for any town, so good news that Swindon has two new options for residents and visitors.”
The Regent Circus development was built on the site of a former Wiltshire College campus, and opened in 2014.
