Former police station comes to market as offices – or possibly a home

A former police station in the shadow of Cabot Tower in Bristol will be sold by auction in December as offices – or possibly a home.

The Old Police Station at Jacobs Wells Road in Clifton boasts nearly 5,000 sq ft of accommodation over two floors.

The police station was built in 1836 and was last used as the headquarters of Avon Wildlife Trust between 1986 and 2022.

The detached property comes with a host of original features – including ten cells (pictured) and an interview room.

Set within the green of Brandon Hill park, the property has a small courtyard garden, and a second garden overlooking Jacobs Wells Road.

It will be sold by auctioneer Hollis Morgan at the firm’s online sale on Wednesday, December 10 with a guide price of £575,000. Potential buyers need to register by December 5.

While planning permission would have to be obtained if it were to be converted into a home, the auctioneer says the property has seven bedrooms and four bathrooms.
