NFU Mutual acquires Swindon logistics site for £2.7 million
NFU Mutual has acquired a development site in Swindon from Marq Logistics for £2.7 million, with Graftongate appointed as development partner.
The consented scheme will deliver an 80,000 sq ft speculative logistics unit on a 5.3-acre site, on the A419, near Junction 15 of the M4. It includes integral office space and is designed to meet institutional sustainability standards.
The site is located within an established logistics location, with occupiers including DHL, Wincanton, WHSmith, B&Q and TNT.
Construction is due to commence this month, with practical completion targeted for Q1 2027.
Alex Pocock, property fund manager at NFU Mutual, said: “We’re delighted to be partnering with Graftongate on this development.
“This acquisition offers a compelling opportunity to deliver a prime logistics asset in a well-established location, underpinned by strong occupier demand.”
James Martyn-Smith, construction director at Graftongate, added: “This acquisition enables us to bring forward a high-specification, mid-box logistics development, in a proven location. We are pleased to be partnering with NFU Mutual on our first project together and look forward to exploring future opportunities.”
NFU Mutual was represented by Newmark, with Cogent Real Estate acting on behalf of Graftongate.
