Chippenham businesses urged to help shape town brand

Business owners in Chippenham are being urged to help develop a new brand for the town.

Chippenham Business Improvement District (BID) is running an online survey, help the BID shape campaigns to attract more businesses and visitors to the town and improve its retail offering.

The initiative is supported by Chippenham Town Council and the Chamber of Commerce, and the new brand will be unveiled in June.

The BID was launched in November last year, after 74 percent of businesses voted in favour of it. They will pay a levy on their business rates, which is anticipated to generate £200,000 a year – money that will be used to improve and promote the town.

BID manager Carolyn Brownell said “It is vital that we understand exactly how people feel about Chippenham – who they are, what they do, and how they view the town.

“Our ongoing promotional activity needs to reflect the ambitions of the people and businesses of Chippenham. And as local people will have the best grasp of the town and what needs to be done, we are keen to make sure their opinions are heard and included in our planning.

“The survey only takes a few minutes to complete and will be hugely important, so I am appealing for as many people as possible to take part and have their say on the future of the town.”
