Wiltshire firms urged to report mobile ‘not spots’

Wiltshire businesses are being urged to continue supporting efforts to improve mobile connectivity across the county by reporting areas where mobile signal is poor or unavailable.

Wiltshire Council says the response to its Digital Wiltshire campaign has been extremely positive, with more than 1,500 mobile not spots already reported by residents, businesses and community groups.

This valuable local intelligence is helping to build a clearer picture of mobile coverage across Wiltshire and identify where improvements are needed most.

Now, the aim is to maintain this momentum and reach 2,000 reported not spots as quickly as possible.

A council spokesperson said: “Reliable mobile connectivity is essential for modern businesses.

“Whether you’re making calls, processing payments, accessing cloud-based services or staying connected with customers, poor mobile coverage can affect productivity and growth.

“By reporting mobile not spots through Digital Wiltshire, businesses can help ensure that real-world experiences are reflected in future discussions with mobile network providers and government partners. The more evidence collected, the stronger the case for investment in areas experiencing poor coverage.”

Digital Wiltshire provides a simple way to report locations where mobile signal is weak or non-existent, whether:

• At your business premises
• While travelling across the county
• When visiting customers or suppliers
• At home or within your local community

Every report contributes to a more comprehensive understanding of connectivity challenges across Wiltshire.
