Bristol tech stars line up for regional awards showdown

Bristol’s technology sector is set to dominate the Tech South West Awards 2026, with 21 local organisations and individuals named finalists across 16 categories.

The eighth edition of the region’s flagship tech celebration attracted more than 370 entries from across the South West, with over 30 judges selecting the shortlist in September. The awards recognise innovation from healthtech and fintech to climate robotics, investment and talent development.

Bristol-based e-signature platform Signable leads the local charge with four nominations, including Tech Company of the Year, Growth Award, Best Place to Work and Tech Leadership. Loqbox also makes the Growth Award shortlist, while Kascade (Computer World) is a Best Place to Work finalist.

Healthtech features strongly, with Micrima, Dynamic Therapeutics (DTx), Dimension Biotechnologies, Ferryx and MyCelsius all in contention for the HealthTech Award. Micrima, whose breast imaging system uses radio waves instead of X-rays, is also shortlisted for the AI Award and Tech Leadership, while DTx is up for Best Startup and Tech for Good.

Fintech contenders include Mia Wealth and Sync Savings in the FinTech category, sponsored by RBC Wealth Management. Climate and innovation are represented by Perceptual Robotics, which uses drones and AI to inspect wind turbines (ClimateTech), and Inductosense (Innovation Award). Temple Quarter’s Taught by Humans is an EdTech finalist.

Investment and support organisations backing the ecosystem are also recognised, with Angel Investors Bristol, Maven Capital Partners and YFM Equity Partners shortlisted for Tech Investor of the Year. Ghyston is a Tech Leadership and Women in Tech finalist, alongside Eco Hygiene Care’s Frances Lucraft. Future Space, Business West and the University of Bristol’s School of Computer Science & Industrial Liaison Office are all in the Supporting the Sector category.

The ceremony takes place at Ashton Gate Stadium on Thursday, November 26, with two additional awards – the People’s Choice and THE Tech South West Award, sponsored by NatWest – decided on the night.

Tech South West is a membership-based organisation which celebrates the South West’s fastest-growing sector and showcases the region as an emerging, world-leading hub for technology and innovation.

It covers the whole region, from Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly to Gloucestershire and Wiltshire. Bath and Bristol, Bournemouth and Poole, Devon, Dorset, and Somerset.
