Wiltshire Council defers business rate payments until June

No business will have to pay business rates until June if they are struggling to pay bills because of the coronavirus pandemic, Wiltshire Council has confirmed.

The council is allowing business ratepayers to defer their payments for two months. The same rules apply to private residents paying council tax.

Cllr Philip Whitehead, Leader of Wiltshire Council said: “We hope during this uncertain and difficult time this will help people and ease the pressure.

“We’re all in this together and I’ve been so impressed by the response of our communities, and we’ll continue to do what we can to provide support and reassurance.”

Anyone wishing to defer their business rate payments should contact the council on 0300 456 0109.
