Burges Salmon shortlisted for Investors in People Awards
Bristol-based law firm Burges Salmon has been shortlisted for The Award for Social Responsibility at The Investors in People (IiP) Awards 2022.
IiP is the international standard for people management, defining what it takes to lead, support and manage people effectively to achieve sustainable results and enabling organisations to benchmark against the best in the business on an international scale.
The Awards recognise the amazing people and organisations in our communities, highlighting those reaching excellence and putting people first whilst building a stronger, healthier and happier society.
Social responsibility is an embedded part of Burges Salmon’s culture and the firm is proud of its long-standing commitment to the community.
The firm is a signatory to the UN Global Compact and has integrated the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
The firm is a member of Business in The Community (BITC) and has made public commitments and objectives in relation to social responsibility including the respect of human rights, community engagement and diversity and inclusion.
The firm also enables its people to volunteer, fundraise and provide pro-bono legal services and pursues continuous improvement by seeking feedback from its stakeholders, along with participating in relevant benchmarks such as the Social Mobility Employers Index.
The firm’s chief people officer, Robert Halton, said: “We are incredibly proud to have been shortlisted by Investors in People in recognition of our efforts to ensure Burges Salmon is open and inclusive and encourages a culture of social responsibility.
“This nomination is all the more significant given the firm’s focus on wellbeing and engagement, inclusive workplace culture, environmental sustainability, employability and human rights, and collaboration and innovation. It is of huge importance that our unique, collaborative culture continues to prevail and to be recognised in this way is very pleasing.”
