Bristol University announces second Festival of Enterprise
Bristol University has announced the return of its Festival of Enterprise, which will celebrate what industry and academia can achieve when they work together.
The festival is billed as an opportunity for businesses and researchers to meet and explore opportunities for collaboration.
“Spin-outs, start-ups, industry-academia partnerships and collaborative research all play a part in addressing the greatest challenges of our time and contributing to economic growth and competitiveness in our region and beyond,” say organisers.
The event presents an opportunity for businesses active in the Bristol area to link with researchers and academics at the University of Bristol; to meet, discuss and explore how research and researchers can help businesses meet their challenges and achieve their aspirations.
Businesses operating in the Bristol area are invited to submit a short statement describing a challenge or opportunity they are facing that they feel research can help them to address.
Correspondingly, academics and researchers will submit short statements of their expertise and research interests.
These statements will be shared with all delegates and used to facilitate networking and the making of meaningful new connections.
The Festival will also feature panel discussions on the benefits and challenges of industry-academic collaboration with a particular focus on SMEs, and one on spin-outs, investment readiness and the joys and challenges of spinning and scaling a business.
There will be an exhibition featuring Temple Quarter Enterprise Campus, QTIC+, Future Space and Business Growth Hub , and ample networking opportunities, all with the aim of generating new, exciting and mutually beneficial collaborations between researchers and businesses.
The event will be held on Friday, July 7 at the University’s Wills Memorial Building. Pre-event registration can be found at https://www.thefestivalofenterprise.co.uk
