What will the Thames Valley be famous for in 10 years time, conference asks
What will the Thames Valley be famous for in 10 years time? That’s one of the questions being posed at the Growth Conference from Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce next week.
The region – which stretches from Swindon in the West to Slough in the East is the UK’s leading digital tech cluster, contributing approximately £10 billion to the British technology economy.
It is also home to Heathrow Airport – Europe’s busiest airport and the most connected airport in the world.
More recently, it has become home to Shinfield Studios (pictured), the largest new film and television studio in the UK.
Other key industries include Space – centred around the Harwell Space Cluster in Oxfordshire – and health and life sciences.
The conference will look at the growth opportunities while recognising that the region is not immune to challenges like tariffs imposed by the US, the latest of which – which targets the movie industry – will have ramifications for Shinfield.
The conference will also look at The Future of Business – People and Workplace, asking what the workplace of tomorrow will look like, and how can businesses adapt?
A panel will be exploring how ways of working and multiple generation teams are shaping the way successful businesses operate.
And in Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technology – Raising Productivity and Smarter Working a panel will look at the ways in which evolving technologies will revolutionise the way we do business, and ask what businesses need to prioritise for change.
The conference will be held at the UK R&D facility of global ag-tech company Syngenta in Bracknell on Wednesday, May 14, running from 9.30am until 3pm.
Tickets, priced at £75 are available from https://www.thamesvalleychamber.co.uk/thames-valley-growth-conference/
