Historic retailer relocates to modern new premises
Historic retailer Knees is to relocate its home and electrical department in the next phase of its expansion plans.
Over the last two years, the 142-year-old firm has been growing its digital offering and bolstering its workforce to face head-on the challenges of retail, both now and into the future.
As part of its ambitious growth plans, in early 2022 Knees are relocating from their Spitfire Trowbridge store to new premises just under a mile away at the White Horse Business Park.
The move will enable the firm to combine its entire retail operation under one roof and help it to deliver a frictionless customer experience by combining a new experiential-led showroom alongside our warehouse and support teams.
The new premises will focus on showcasing aspirational, investment and lifestyle products across built-in appliances, range cooking and fitted kitchen categories.
Online will continue to provide an extended range of freestanding appliances, plus the firm’s homeware categories.
“A building like this does not become available every day, so when it has, we’ve moved fast and decisively to secure it,” said managing director Andy Pickford
“We are really excited about this change and can’t wait to offer our loyal customers a more refined shopping experience.
“What this new building gives us is a platform to provide our customers with a wonderful opportunity to see our aspirational and lifestyle products in an experiential space.
“But by consolidating our entire operation under one roof, we can connect the physical and digital and provide our customers with a more efficient and hassle-free service proposition.
“This is all part of our plan to continue to evolve as a digital first omnichannel retailer.”
The firm’s Malmesbury home, which underwent significant investment through the pandemic is, says the firm, “an important part of our physical proposition” will continue to trade.
