Alder King brokers care home sale
A former residential care home in the heart of Swindon’s Old Town conservation area is likely to be converted into flats, following a property deal brokered by Alder King.
The property consultants, acting on behalf of Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust, have secured the freehold sale of Windswept.
The detached Victorian property at 21 Belmont Crescent, has been acquired by Kamara Management LLP off a guide price of £575,000. Kamara is drawing up plans to convert the property into flats, subject to securing planning consent.
The former residents have been relocated and are now enjoying modern and more spacious state of the art accommodation at Sandalwood Court, Highworth Road, Swindon.
The three storey property provides a total of 4,380 sq ft of accommodation and retains many original and unique features including high ceilings, tiled floors, feature windows and staircases and a conservatory overlooking the garden.
Alison Williams, associate at Alder King’s Swindon office, said: “Windswept was an attractive opportunity for both developers and owner occupiers. The property generated significant interest with the need to arrange dedicated viewing days on four specific occasions.”
