Swindon’s the HR Dept in running for SME business of the year award
Leading HR consultancy the HR Dept has been shortlisted for a regional award, to become SME of the Year for the South West.
Based in Swindon, the HR Dept – which this year marks its 15th anniversary – is among 23 businesses to reach the final of the SME category of the South West Awards Businesses & Community (SWBC).
The company was selected from more than 1,500 entries across the region.
The HR Dept was created in 2007, and incorporates services in Somerset and London, as well as North Wiltshire and East Cotswolds.
Across the group, the team has grown to 12-strong, based in offices in Swindon and Taunton, and in the last 12 months alone the size of the Swindon team has doubled.
“At the HR Dept, we have had our best year to date. Not only have we smashed through targets months ahead, growing the business in client numbers and revenue, but we have also managed to grow our staff head count by 50 per cent just in the last year alone,” said managing director Peter Jones.
“This is because the business has not stopped evolving since its inception. We are a team that likes to innovate; we do things differently and are constantly looking for ways to improve our service to help our many local clients as best we can.
“We’re thrilled to be finalists in the SWBC awards, which is really all down to our hardworking team and the exceptional service they deliver to our clients.”
The HR Dept supports clients in a range of sectors, including manufacturing, hospitality, finance, retail, leisure and professional services.
Winners of the SWBC awards will be announced at a ceremony in Swindon, on December 8 at the Doubletree Hilton.
