Pioneering work scheme for young people gets a boost from Thirdline
IT firm, Thirdline has joined a pioneering scheme to help young people prepare for the world of work and improve the pool of talented labour as a sponsor.
Backed by the town’s employers and coordinated by Back on Track Teens, the Work Ready courses will help the young delegates get a better understanding of their strengths and interests steering them towards careers they will enjoy and excel in.
The scheme is coordinated by author and young people trainer, TeeJay Dowe.
The two-day course will take place at The Brunel Shopping Centre in Swindon town centre on Thursday and Friday.
The Brunel is also a sponsor, and is lending its large boardroom for the course to take place.
The 27-year-old founder and CEO of Swindon-based Thirdline, Jack Peploe, has been running his IT, cloud and communications company for over 10 years.
“Being young myself, I understand some of the struggles young people have when it comes to finding work”, he said. “I’m a big believer in helping ambitious teenagers get their foot on the career ladder. We have a number of young talented staff at Thirdline who excel in what they do.
“We are very proud to be sponsoring such a worthwhile cause that helps develop young people.”
Sponsorship from Thirdline and The Brunel Shopping Centre has made the Work Ready course completely free and open to 18- to 23-year-olds living in the Swindon area.
Inner Flame, Jackie Kerr Recruitment and Threshold Housing Link have enrolled a number of young people for the Work Ready course.
