Conference delegates will get the lowdown on Help to Build loans
A £150 million loan scheme to help people build their own homes will be explained at a conference in Swindon this weekend.
The government launched the scheme in April, saying Self and custom build could deliver 30-40,000 new homes a year: a significant contribution to the country’s housebuilding ambitions.
The scheme would also help the small building firms that construct one in ten of England’s new homes.
The scheme will be explored at The National Self Build & Renovation Show, which is being held at the National Self Build & Renovation Centre in Swindon on Friday and Saturday, October 15 and 16.
There will also be seminars on finding plots of land, applying for planning permission, and getting projects funded.
For self-builders and renovators there will be a topical look at alternative heating supplies – including heat pumps, solar, and heat recovery.
Tickets are free if booked in advance, or £12 on the door. Full details can be found at www.nsbrc.co.uk/the-national-self-build-and-renovation-show-october
