PCW was founded in 2018 by financial adviser Christopher Pugh who lives in Swindon and works with clients across Wiltshire and the South West.
“I wanted to create a group of like-minded people who could be trusted to share best business practices, advice as well as referrals and opportunities,” he said.
“In the five years, we’ve faced a few hurdles, Covid being the main one where we had to move online, but since then we have gone from strength to strength.
“One highlight came earlier this year when we hosted an event where our guest speaker was Eddie The Eagle and more than 80 people attended.
“We have a fabulous group of members who all support each other in business and in other ways and we’re looking forward to the next five years!”
Rob Young of Asset Guardian Company was one of the founding members, joining up at the first-ever meeting.
“I’ve belonged to several networking groups and this is, without doubt, the most friendly and supportive one. It has helped me hugely in my business and we simply have an attitude of collaboration.”
His thoughts are echoed by another founder member Rachel Fereday, who is a partner and head of litigation and employment at Awdry Law.
“For me it’s all about the people in the room and the support and friendship that we all give to each other.”
In celebration of this significant milestone, group members enjoyed a custom-made cake decorated with their business logos, provided by fellow member Victoria Parry of The Cake Tin Shop, based in Malmesbury.
PCW is a not for profit group which operates a single seat policy, allowing one person from each profession or trade to be represented. PCW members meet fortnightly at the Marsh Farm Hotel in Royal Wootton Bassett on a Friday from 9am.
