Corsham businesswoman Kathryn Roynon has won a national award for her company’s dedication to helping other small businesses and charities grow.

KR HR & Training Consultancy Ltd has been named Best HR & Training Consultancy at the 2021 SME Business Elite Awards.

ver the past year, the team have been helping SMEs with the struggles, and challenges faced due to the pandemic.

“I was really surprised when I received the email saying we’d won, as I didn’t even know we had been nominated,” said Kathryn.

“We’ve worked hard over the past year helping not only our clients adapt, but also adapt ourselves, to the rapidly changing circumstances.

“This award has really lifted the team spirit and it means a lot to get recognised for all the hard work they’ve put in and it’s a brilliant way to end the year”.

The company was formed in 2016 to help give smaller businesses and charities access to the same HR expertise as larger organisations.

In 2020, due to demand for services, the company expanded to welcome Kirsteen Pearce as HR consultant followed in early 2021 with the creation of two trainee positions under the Kickstart scheme.

One of their standout projects of the year which was highlighted by the panel of judges has been the support given to Swindon & Wiltshire Local Enterprise Partnership.

The team played a major part in a successful expansion growing from a team of nine to 21 in a matter of months.

Paddy Bradley, CEO at SWLEP, said: “As we have been growing our business, Kathryn and her team have been in lock-step with us, providing crucial and timely advice.

“Our relationship with Kathryn’s team is based on mutual respect and confidence in high-quality delivery. I could not wish for better or more responsive HR support.”
