Suzuki previews concept of its first electric car
Suzuki has unveiled a concept of what will become its first electric car at the Auto Expo 2023 in Delhi.
The eVX crossover concept previews the brand’s first global strategic EV, which is due to launch by 2025.
The marque has already pledged to produce all of its current model lineup as hybrids.
It combines, says the manufacturer, “Suzuki’s strong 4×4 DNA with the advanced features of the latest battery electric vehicles.”
Its 60kWh battery will have a range of about 550km (340 miles). Its dimensions are broadly similar to that of its S-Cross small SUV, so it will be competing with the Kia Niro and MG ZS electric SUVs.
“I am delighted to unveil the eVX, our first global strategic EV. At the Suzuki Group, addressing global warming is a priority,” said group president Toshihiro Suzuki at the launch.
“We are promoting a range of global measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
“Suzuki will continue providing valuable products to our customers around the world by optimising them for the way different people live and drive.”
