Hyundai unveils sleek new Ioniq 6
Hyundai has followed up its award-winning Ioniq 5 with a streamlined all-electric saloon called… Ioniq 6.
A bit Porsche 911-y, a bit Audi TT-ish, Hyundai’s “Electrified Streamliner” is gunning for the Tesla Model 3 market with its highly-anticipated 6.
Aerodynamically sculpted, the Ioniq 6 makes innovative use of sustainable materials inside and out to reflect the values of today’s EV customers.
Aerodynamics features include air flaps at the front, wheel gap reducers, and optional slim digital side mirrors.
At the rear is a “parametric pixel high-mounted stop lamp” that delivers an animated display when the car is unlocked.
Inside, there’s a completely flat floor, which helps with legroom – especially in the rear.
A minimalist dashboard design includes a 12-inch touchscreen display and 12-inch digital cluster.
There are 64 shades of ambient interior lighting to choose from, and the Speed Sync mode changes the brightness of the interior lighting based on the vehicle’s speed.
There’s no news on power, battery size, or pricing yet – the full launch will take place in July, with the model available from early 2023.
