School children name the new fully-electric buses at Bristol Airport
A new fully-electric bus at Bristol Airport will now be known as Bus Light Year after the airport challenged children at their local school to name vehicles in its shuttle fleet on a space theme.
Other CoBuses have been dubbed Bus Aldren, The Solar Express, and Comet Cruiser.
The ten school children who came up with the winning suggestions were invited to the airport at the end of the school term for a behind-the-scenes tour of the south side operations of the airport and a chance to ride the bus.
The CoBus has the capacity to carry up to 110 customers and operates between Bristol Airport’s terminal building and aircraft.
Nik Gardner, headteacher of Winford Church of England Primary School, said: “This was a great opportunity for Winford C of E Primary School to become involved with Bristol Airport, our largest local industry.
“Our pupils loved getting involved in naming the buses and loved the visit to the airport even more.”
