Wiltshire Community Foundation receives £1,500 donation from Barratt David Wilson Homes towards cost-of-living appeal

Wiltshire Community Foundation has received a £1,500 boost for its latest fundraising appeal from Barratt David Wilson Homes.

Fiona Oliver, joint chief executive at the Wiltshire Community Foundation, said the funding from Barratt David Wilson Homes South West will support communities who are most in need this winter: “The cost-of-living crisis will have the most impact on those who already have the least, particularly those living in fuel poverty over the coming months.

“The donation means a huge amount to us – Wiltshire Community Foundation is a grant-giving charity that supports local grassroots community groups and charities that tackle the most pressing local issues in Wiltshire and Swindon from homelessness to domestic violence, poverty to poor mental health, loneliness and isolation.

“Many of the groups we support are small and are often overlooked by other funders as they don’t have the marketing budgets or manpower to raise awareness of the vital work they do.

“If it wasn’t for the generosity of businesses like Barratt David Wilson Homes, we wouldn’t be able to provide this help. Last year thanks to our supporters we were able to help over 120,000 people across Wiltshire and Swindon through our grants programmes. We are fortunate that local companies like Barratt David Wilson Homes really want to give back to the community where they are based.”

Louise Ware, sales director at Barratt David Wilson Homes South West, added: “The Foundation is passionate about helping people locally and, like us, strives to build stronger communities in Wiltshire and Swindon where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. It’s important to do all we can to pull together to help those around us who are in need. I’m sure our donation will make a real difference to the communities the Wiltshire Community Foundation helps out.”

Wiltshire Community Foundation has recently launched its Surviving Winter Appeal which will ensure hundreds of vulnerable older people across Wiltshire and Swindon have the support they need to get through the winter.
