Shelly Smith of Monahans

Promotion for insolvency expert

Chartered accountants Monahans have appointed Shelly Smith to a senior managerial position in the business recovery and insolvency team.

With more than 18 years experience, Shelly started her career with Solomon Hare in Bristol before moving on to manage the insolvency team at Robson Taylor.

Shortly after she qualified as an insolvency practitioner and joined KPMG as a manager. Shelly joined Monahans in 2010, keen for the direct client contact and variety an independent firm brings.

Shelly has extensive experience in corporate insolvency with specific experience in the SME market, working across a range of sectors including property, hotels, retail and internet businesses.

“There has been demand for our services from companies across the South West as the region continues to face tough economic conditions,” said Steve Elliott, Monahans business recovery and insolvency partner.

“With her strong track record of advising businesses in distress, we believe Shelly will be key to building our profile across the region, and ensuring that companies are aware that there are experienced professionals locally to whom they can turn.”
