A team of walkers from Novum Law in Swindon is on course to raise more than £8,000 for charities in Wiltshire after completing the gruelling 24-mile Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge in less than 12 hours.
The 12-strong party from Novum Law, which specialises in serious injury claims, is taking a well-earned rest after conquering the three mountains – Pen-y-Ghent (691m), Whernside (728m) and Ingleborough (723m) – in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
And having safely negotiated the arduous climbs and the steep descents, the team is hoping to share thousands of pounds worth of sponsorship money among the many charities including local branches of Headway, the Child Brain Injury Trust, Wiltshire Air Ambulance and the Samaritans.
Neil Elliott, partner at Novum Law and a member of the climbing party, said: “We are all very pleased to have completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge. The walk was unquestionably more strenuous than we had anticipated, but the way in which the team pulled together made it a highly enjoyable experience.
“We know all too well the devastating effects that a brain injury can have on sufferers and their loved ones. It is for this reason that we have chosen to support charities which do so much to support individuals and families affected by brain injury during the rehabilitation process.
“The Novum Law team is extremely grateful to everyone for the support and generosity they have shown. With our walking boots now safely packed away, we are looking forward to presenting these much-needed funds to our nominated charities and seeing them continue their work in this vital area.”
