Law firm Freeths launches dispute resolution service in Bristol with senior hire
Law firm Freeths has appointed managing associate Kelly Whittaker from Burges Salmon LLP to lead a new commercial dispute resolution team in the region.
The new team will work alongside the existing property litigation team in the firm’s Bristol office.
Kelly is recognised for her extensive experience in professional negligence actions having acted on some of the largest negligence claims in the High Court within the last 10 years.
Alongside this, Kelly has advised extensively on company, contractual, shareholder and partnership disputes across a wide range of sectors, particularly financial services.
At Freeths, Kelly will work closely with partner and national head of dispute resolution James Hartley to enhance the firm’s offering in Bristol and the wider regions.
“Freeths’ dispute resolution team is filled with market-leading talent which has only heightened throughout the last few years. I’m confident Kelly will further complement our offering within the region and nationally,” said James.
Adam Watson, managing partner of Freeths Bristol, continued: “Kelly is a wonderful addition to our team, bringing with her a wealth of experience in a new practice area for our Bristol office, ready to rival regional competitors.
“In what has been a momentous year of growth for the office, we’re looking forward to welcoming Kelly’s new clients.”
Kelly Whittaker added: “I’m delighted to be joining Freeths leading national dispute resolution practice at such an exciting time for both the team and Bristol office.
“My new colleagues have already made me feel incredibly welcome and I look forward to playing a part in the firm’s continued growth and success.”
