Good Energy announces new senior hires as it celebrates eco accolades

Renewable Energy supplier Good Energy has announced three new senior hires as it celebrates market-leading eco accolades.

The Chippenham-based firm, which has completed the acquisition of five firms in the past two months – two of those last month – has hired Carl Hogg as services managing director, Ryan McShea as business development director of commercial solar, and Richard Fuell as head of business development.

Carl, who has more than 15 years’experience in operational leadership overseeing large, complex services businesses, joins from Johnson Controls where he was group services director. He will head up operations across Good Energy’s five acquired entities to manage integration and drive growth.

Ryan will lead solar installation sales for Good Energy in the commercial sector, targeting customers from small-to-medium enterprises to large corporations and local authorities.

Ryan founded Empower Energy, which was recently acquired by Good Energy, in 2010.

Richard joins the firm from Maxeon Solar Technologies and previously spent eight years managing UK sales for SolarEdge. He is charged with commercial solar growth.

Nigel Pocklington, CEO of Good Energy commented: “Having rapidly expanded our clean energy services through acquisition, we are now bringing in the right leadership to oversee their operations and integration into the wider group and ensure organic growth.

“Carl’s leadership experience in large, complex services businesses is well suited to this task and comes as we announce the bolstering of our technical sales capability in commercial solar installation – a sector expected to see growth into 2024 and beyond.

“Good Energy’s strong brand and expert reputation with generators, leading export tariffs, and green supply products, now combined with our national coverage in commercial solar combined and technical sales expertise positions us perfectly to help businesses and public sector organisations who want to cut their carbon and energy costs.”

* Good Energy becomes only supplier accredited by Which? and Uswitch

New of the appointments came as Good Energy announced it had become the only supplier to hold Which? and Uswitch green accreditations

Good Energy has been accredited Which? Eco Provider status for the fourth year in a row.

In addition, Good Energy’s dual-fuel standard tariff has been awarded with Gold standard by Uswitch Green Accreditation, making the company the only energy supplier to hold both accreditations.

Nigel added: ““Having our green credentials verified by independent consumer and energy experts gives our customers peace of mind that their homes are supplied with genuine renewable energy.

“This wouldn’t be possible without our network of small-scale generators across the UK, a unique model which is what is different about how Good Energy supplies energy.”
