Accountancy firm reveals new staff and brand in face of industry changes

Forward-thinking accountancy firm D&T has appointed two business advisors to its team as it repositions itself for the future.

Unveiling his firm’s new look, D&T boss Carl Reader hailed “the end of accountancy as you know it.”

“With pundits forecasting that advances in artificial intelligence will lead a revolution in the accountancy world, being ‘good with numbers’ is important, but it simply isn’t going to be enough for the accountancy firm of the future,” he said.

One of the firm’s new recruits, experienced franchising solicitor Vicki Mitman, added: “While professional accountancy firms will of course still include some ‘numbers’ staff, accountants need to take on a far more valuable support role for their clients, with a team of business experts who can provide a range of advisory services.

“It’s a really exciting time for accountants who acknowledge the impact technology will have on their industry, and take the opportunity to be of even greater value to their clients.”

Joining Vicki is Craig Brown, former managing director of Signs Express.

“With nearly 30 years’ experience in business, including running the largest sign franchise in the UK, I’m very pleased to be joining such a strong and knowledgeable advisory team at D&T,” said Craig.

“The team and I can give real business advice based on our own wealth of business experience, using financial information as a platform, not a limit of our advice.”

On the rebrand, Carl added: “This refresh marks the next stage of our business’s development and is a reflection of both where we find ourselves as a business today, and where we want to go.”
