Good Energy founder appointed to government’s Clean Power 2030 advisory commission
The founder of renewable energy supplier Good Energy has been appointed to the government’s Clean Power 2030 advisory commission.
Juliet Davenport founded Good Energy in 2003 and led the firm until 2021, when she announced her intention to stand down.
She is now president of the Energy Institute.
Juliet will join seven other experts assisting with the development of the Clean Power 2030 Action Plan, expected later this year.
The action plan will set out the path to decarbonise the country’s electricity grid.
Energy secretary Ed Miliband said: “The best way to take back control of our energy security and create highly skilled jobs is to speed up the rollout of renewables and transition towards clean homegrown power.
“The Clean Power 2030 Advisory Commission, benefiting from decades of experience across industry and academia, under Chris Stark’s leadership, will have a laser-like focus on delivering our mission for clean power by 2030.”
Juliet said: “I’m hugely excited to announce my role on the Clean Power 2030 Advisory Commission, where I’ll be collaborating with Chris Stark and a dynamic team of experts from sectors such as energy, engineering, climate science, technology, energy networks, and research.
“Together, we’re committed to accelerating the journey to a clean energy future by 2030.”
