Accountants ask businesses to root for Twigs

They’ve already raised £1,400… now accountants from Banks BHG are asking business colleagues to take a leaf out of their book, and raise cash for the charity Twigs.

Twigs, part of the Richmond Fellowship, gives people who experience mental health problems the chance to regain confidence and self-esteem and to learn new skills through therapeutic gardening at Manor Garden Centre, Cheney Manor.

A quiz, sponsored slim and name-the-baby competition have helped contribute to the money raised so far, while a corporate golf tournament at Wrag Barn Golf Club in Swindon raised £565 earlier this month.

The winner of the singles was Richard Davies from NatWest and the winning team was Birkdale, comprising Andy Barnett from Morgan Blake, Ray White from Regulatory Financial Solutions and Roger Crowhurst of R & H Interiors.

Now the team are firing up the brain cells once more for a quiz, to be held on Wednesday October 15 from 7pm at the De Vere Village Hotel, Swindon. Entry costs £5 per head, for teams of four.

“The golf day went down very well, and because of the popularity of our quiz in April we thought we’d run another,” said Banks BHG director Richard Mathews. “They are a lot of fun, and a great way to support such an excellent, local charity.”
