Withy King raises over £9k for Prospect Hospice
The private client team at Swindon-based law firm Withy King raised over £9,000 for Prospect Hospice during its most recent ‘Make A Will Month’ by waiving their usual fees in exchange for a charitable donation.
Withy King, which incorporates Lemon & Co, helped to draft or update more than 30 wills in support of Prospect Hospice’s Make A Will Month, the fourth year the firm has supported the campaign.
Mandy Casavant, a wills and estate planning specialist at Withy King and a trustee of Prospect Hospice, said: “This annual campaign is an excellent way of raising awareness of the importance of wills while raising money for a very worthwhile cause.
“We are very pleased to play our part in supporting Prospect in delivering dedicated end-of-life care and family support services to our local community.”
Prospect Hospice’s head of fundraising Sheryl Crouch said: “Our Make A Will month is an opportunity for people to get a will professionally written and support their local hospice at the same time.
“Not having a will can have devastating consequences for people who are left behind after someone dies, which is why making a will is so important for people who want to make clear who will benefit from their estate when they are no longer with us.
“Importantly for us, it has also been a strong source of income for Prospect Hospice in recent years.”
Prospect Hospice’s Make A Will Month was supported by five firms of solicitors in 2014. The campaign is due to be repeated in November 2015.
