Thrings defends top tier industry ranking

Law firm Thrings has defended its title of Top Tier legal firm for agriculture and commercial property in this year’s Legal 500.

The Swindon-based firm firm also climbed the rankings this year in the categories of agriculture and estates, commercial property, and personal injury.

A ‘regional heavyweight’, Thrings was commended for its ‘great expertise and coverage along the M4 corridor’, and its work for the NFU, Marlborough College, Citipost AMP, Honda and the Ryder Cup was highlighted.

This year also saw the number of the firm’s lawyers recommended by the guide boosted to 27.

Peter Cusick of ThringsPartners, Andy Braithwaite, who specialises in intellectual property, and Peter Cusick, who specialises in agriculture and estates, were named as two of the best lawyers across all law firms in the South West.

Managing partner, Simon Holdsworth, said: “In this increasingly competitive market I am very pleased that Thrings continues to be seen as a strong player in the region especially in the areas where we have invested and seen growth over the last few years.

“Having so many of our lawyers recognised for their expertise and skills is particularly gratifying.

“As we continue to invest in the development of our people we are also working hard to create strong, long term relationships with our clients. We know that excellence as lawyers is the starting point in any relationship with clients.

“Being recognised in the largest legal directory in the world is ultimately a testament to the work we are doing with our clients and we will continue to develop lawyers who accurately reflect the market they serve and who will continue to win and retain business from the increasingly discerning and sophisticated purchasers in those markets.”
