Salisbury snapper scoops two awards
Salisbury photographer Anthony von Roretz has won a brace of awards at the recent Master Photographers’ Association Wessex Region’s annual print competition.
The competition, the finals of which were held in Southampton on February 10, recognises the best professional photographers in the region across a range of categories every year.
Anthony, of Trinity Photography, reigned supreme in the Pictorial category, coming first and second. His Cathedral Flood image was placed first with his recently-exhibited Stonehenge narrowly missing the top spot to take second place.
He then scooped the Pets & Animals first place award with his classical study of a rough collie, and the night’s recognition was complete with a merit in the Under Fives’ category.
Speaking after the event, Anthony said “Having your work scrutinised by one of the best photographers in the country, in front of your peers, is an experience to remember. There was a lot of good work up for consideration, so to come away with two firsts and a second is a real honour.”
