Family law duo join Thrings’ growing One Couple One Lawyer divorce service

Couples looking to separate amicably now have extended support through law firm Thrings, following the qualification of two of its family lawyers to offer its One Couple One Lawyer service.

Legal director Anna Patterson and associate Zhenja Cann, based in the firm’s Wiltshire and Bristol offices respectively, have begun offering clients the unique approach to separating couples, having completed the training through national body Resolution.

The service, as suggested by the name, enables a separating couple to take a more amicable route by receiving advice and assistance from by a single lawyer.

Whilst not necessarily suitable for all couples going through a separation, One Couple One Lawyer has proven to be to be a valuable alternative to traditional divorce, encouraging collaboration with clear guidance and offering a range of benefits that promote a more positive transition, whilst keeping costs low.

“Divorce can be an emotional time for a couple as they look to separate and continue their lives apart,” said Anna.

“But whilst the process has traditionally been more adversarial, that doesn’t need to be the case and it is important for those that want to pursue a more constructive course of action to be given the option.”

“With One Couple One Lawyer, clients can work together with their ex-partner to find a better way of resolving their disputes, giving them more control over the process with transparent and clear advice to secure a more holistic approach to their separation,” added Zhenja.

Matthew Kellow, head of family at Thrings, said: “Zhenja and Anna are two extremely skilled and compassionate lawyers who will always put the needs of their clients first and I am pleased to see them able to deliver the One Couple One Lawyer service, lessening the impact of divorce on everyone else involved and reducing the delay, stress and costs of the whole process.”
