Paralympic medallist swaps swimming pool for golf club
Paralympic medal-winner Stephanie Millward swapped the Olympic pool for a golf club as guest speaker at the Wessex Chamber networking breakfast last Friday.
The former Corsham School pupil – who won a silver at the London Olympics in 2012 – told members about being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis at the age of 17, when a place on the able-bodied Olympic squad looked certain.
Steph – who brought with her an Olympic torch which she carried through Liverpool as part of the pre-Games national relay – told delegates she is currently writing a book about her experience – Paying the Price.
The next Wessex networking breakfast will be held on Friday, June 27 at Cumberwell Park Golf Club, where the guest weaker will be Paul Freeston, chairman and chief executive of apetito UK & Canada.
