On your bike – Wiltshire workers urged to take part in Travel Challenge
Wiltshire workers are being urged to leave the car at home and find an alternative way to commute to work this September.
The Connecting Wiltshire Travel Challenge will run throughout the month, and anyone who works in Wiltshire can take part.
Employees are invited to join forces with their colleagues to log their journeys in a bid to be named the best workplace team in Wiltshire.
The aim of the challenge, which is run by Wiltshire Council and Sustrans, is to reduce the number of journeys taken by car. Journeys carried out on foot, by bike, by public transport or by lift-sharing all count.
Eleanor Wratten, Connecting Wiltshire workplace engagement officer, said: “The Travel Challenge is a great way to get people across Wiltshire thinking about the way they travel to work every day. By swapping the car journey for walking, cycling or public transport, you can explore your local area and be more active, all while saving money. And most of all, it’s fun!”
