The first in a series of free business networking workshops for women across Swindon and Wiltshire has proved extremely popular.
Organised by Wiltshire Business Support Service and hosted by The Enterprise Network at TEN’s recently opened Manor House Enterprise Centre in Royal Wootton Bassett, it attracted 33 businesswomen from all over Swindon and Wiltshire, and from as far as Malmesbury, Box and Devizes.
The topic was ‘networking for the nervous’ presented by Rachel Sweet from WBSS and the women heard from Jessica Pillow from Chippenham’s Pillow May Accountants about her experiences in setting up a business.
Afterwards, the businesswomen put their new skills to good use making links and building contacts with each other.
Holly Traynor from Manor House Enterprise Centre said: “The feedback was extremely positive with people saying they’d like to come to the next workshop.
The timing of the event – from 10am to 12noon – was also very popular as businesswomen say they are not keen on earlier breakfast events either because of family commitments or because many people want to sort a few things out in the office first.”
The next businesswomen’s event will be on Monday, July 7 at TEN’s White Horse Enterprise Centre in Trowbridge, from 10am to 12 noon.

The Enterprise Network – a Wiltshire Council-led initiative using EU and Government money to help businesses in Swindon and Wiltshire – is particularly keen to support women entrepreneurs as well as military leavers and military partners in launching or growing their businesses.
Since TEN launched, 30 people have been helped to start a new business, 96 existing businesses have received expert support and advice, 39 women-led enterprises have had support and more than 50 new jobs have been created across Wiltshire.
