Jazzbones creates brand identity for high-profile charity art trail

Swindon-based design agency Jazzbones has created the brand identity for UK’s first-ever balloon dog art trail, which is coming to the town in summer 2023.

The Big Dog Art Trail will see 30 larger-than-life balloon dog sculptures – the Swindogs – unleashed across the town in a bid to raise funds for children’s hospice charity, Julia’s House.

Jazzbones was awarded the contract to deliver a name, strapline and logo for the art trail following a competitive tender process. Julia’s House eventually opted for The Big Dog Art Trail: Swindon goes walkies!

Jazzbones creative director Nathan Sandhu said: “The eye-catching logo cleverly incorporates a number of relevant features – a balloon dog, a paw, and a paintbrush – without looking overly fussy.

“As part of the first stage of this major project we have also provided Julia’s House with comprehensive brand guidelines and templates of how the branding can be rolled out across physical collateral – sponsor packs, posters, t-shirts, tote bags, etc – and social media.

“Helping Julia’s House to fine-tune their fundraising and maximise their income gives us immense pleasure.”

Each Swindog sculpture will be sponsored by local businesses and decorated by local and national artists.

Ultimately, the sculptures will be auctioned off to raise significant funds for Julia’s House, ensuring a fitting legacy for the people and communities of Swindon.
