HR seminar looks at the impact of bereavement in the workplace
HR professionals are being invited to look at the impact of bereavement in the workplace at a free seminar run by law firm Withy King, Frankly Recruitment, and the charity Child Bereavement UK.
Bereavement has the potential to impact on performance in the workplace, with an estimated one in ten employees affected at any point in time.
A recent study has shown that 44 percent of organisations experienced an increase in sick leave following bereavement.
It can result in loss of productivity and higher incidences of job-related injuries and accidents.
The seminar aims to provide an understanding of the potential impact of loss and grief in the workplace, along with practical ideas to build a work environment where people can be supported to deal effectively with issues of grief and bereavement while continuing to make an effective contribution to the organisation.
The seminar will be held at the Regent Circus offices of Withy King from 12.30pm until 2pm on Tuesday, November 4.
