Hills to help Center Parcs become even greener
A contract to help green leisure destination Center Parcs become even more environmentally friendly by recycling all of its waste products has been won by Marlborough-based Hills Waste Solutions.
The three year contract will see Hills deliver general and recyclable waste collection services, excluding food waste, across the Warminster leisure park – part of the Longleat Estate – with a focus on maximising recycling performance and achieving a zero waste to landfill.
Simon Collins, account manager for Hills, said: “Center Parcs was looking for a cost effective service with innovative solutions and we are pleased to be able to satisfy their requirements.
“Hills’ extensive experience in delivering similar successful services at other self-contained facilities will be hugely beneficial for this contract.”
The contract, which commenced this month, will initially focus on increasing the frequency of recycling container collections from once every two weeks to weekly.
General waste collections will be made twice weekly with call-off servicing of on-site compactors along with skips and Rolonof containers.
“We will be working closely with Center Parcs’ site management team to establish the success of the increased availability of recycling services and offer suggestions on educational initiatives for staff and guests to reinforce recycling habits,” said Simon.
“For that which cannot be recycled, we have the facilities to treat and extract resource from waste to ensure the zero waste to landfill target is achieved.”
