Free seminar looks at auto enrolment

Employers looking for help and advice about pensions auto enrolment can learn from the experts at a free seminar in Corsham next week.

The auto enrolment legislation means that every employer in the UK must automatically enrol workers into a workplace pension scheme if they are aged between 22 and state pension age, earn more than £10,000 a year, and work in the UK.

All UK companies – starting with the largest back in 2012 – have had to implement new pension procedures, but the staging dates for the smallest firms – of 160 employees and below – started this summer and will continue until 2015.

The seminar – which takes place at at Hartham Park on Tuesday, October 14 from 12.30pm to 2pm – will hear from two experts.

Rob Atkins of Fidelius Employee Benefits will provide an informative and practical presentation on pensions auto-enrolment, which will affect all employers over the next four years. Rob will explain the requirements of the legislation, the issues and opportunities it brings and the experiences of employers who have already commenced auto-enrolment.

Richard White of Withy King’s Employment law team will look at the practical aspects of auto-enrolment in relation to contracts of employment and consulting with staff, and a view on where we are now with regard to mandatory retirement ages and discrimination.
