Employment experts report for duty at military jobs fair
Experts from White Horse Employment were on hand to provide careers advice to soldiers heading for civvy street at a military event last week.
White Horse Employment’s HR expert, managing director Beverley Glover, gave CV-writing and skills advice to servicemen and their families at the Tidworth Career Fair.
The event was an opportunity for past and present MoD and service personnel to meet some of the country’s biggest employers.
Hosted by the British Forces Resettlement Service, it was the third event of its type to be held at Tidworth, and was hailed as one of the biggest career fairs on the calendar.
With over 80 exhibitors, covering an array of sectors, the event gave attendees not only the opportunity to find employment, but also enrol with training providers and get in touch with a range of support services to help the transition from military into civilian life.
Beverley attended as one of two specialist advisors, for attendees to glean valuable CV writing advice and how best to highlight their transferable skills to employers, and was in high demand at the well-attended event, historically attracting over 1,000 people.
“The event was aimed at the forces community and it certainly was that, an extremely supportive community”, commented Beverley, “I met some very talented individuals that have a lot to offer employers in civilian life, their professionalism was outstanding and I would highly recommend local employers to tap into this immense talent pool – right here on our doorstep.”
“I was honoured to be asked to assist service leavers in this way and I wish all those that I met on the day all the best as they continue with their job search.”
