
Trowbridge development site sold for new housing
A prominent development site near Trowbridge town centre has been sold by Colliers International and will be transformed into a new housing scheme.
Located on Adcroft Drive close to Trowbridge town centre, the 0.28 acre site is currently home to Adcroft Villa – a large detached period house which has been unoccupied for a number of years.
Located within a conservation area, the site is well located close to Trowbridge railway station, a host of local amenities and has full planning consent for ten new homes.
Ben Meynell from Colliers International said the site was sold via informal tender to a local developer.
He said: “We were pleased to identify a buyer for this prominent site and end the uncertainty over its future. This scheme is aimed at providing much needed new housing in Trowbridge.”
The planning consent covers demolition of the existing house the construction of eight new two-bedroom houses, a one bedroom coach house and one two-bedroom flat.
