New networking event heads to Swindon – with virtual tables for mini-meetings
A new concept in virtual networking, which offers tables for mini-meetings and promises ‘more room than Zoom,’ is heading to Swindon.
Business Buzz will be launching in Swindon on Thursday, March 18 from 10am to noon.
Business Buzz offers informal networking with no membership fee, no sales pitches, and no professional lockout. The organisation already operates in 35 locations across the UK, with events typically attracting between 25 and 70 attendees.
Working in a drop-in, drop-out format its virtual platform allows networkers to see who’s in the virtual room, move around, and chat to anyone at any time.
Lisa-Marie Mallier, a marketing consultant and the host of Swindon Buzz, said: “It is easy to feel isolated and disconnected when working from home. The innovative online platform we use for our virtual Buzz meetings provides a vibrant café-style setting perfect for driving great conversations.
“It is proving to be really good fun and definitely offers more room than Zoom.”
“Swindon has a strong history of innovation and re-invention, qualities favourable for growth during challenging times – meaning there is plenty of business to be done! The town is a good travel base too, making Swindon Buzz an essential part of the networking group’s rapid expansion plans.”
The inaugural event is sponsored by easyStorage Thames Valley. Owner Emma Glass said: Having been a regular attendee of other Buzz events, we’re excited to sponsor Swindon Buzz.
“We chose to set up our business during one of the toughest, and most uncertain periods on record and networking virtually has helped hugely to raise our profile. We look forward to helping the Swindon business community connect with each other and getting to know them better.”
