Businesswomen’s Networks working together in Swindon and Wiltshire
Businesswomen’s networking groups across Swindon and Wiltshire are coming together under the umbrella of The Enterprise Network to support each other and spread the word.
The Enterprise Network – a business support initiative led by Wiltshire Council – is hosting a series of free networking events for businesswomen organised by the Wiltshire Business Support Service at TEN’s four Enterprise Centres across Wiltshire.
And links have been forged with existing businesswomen’s groups including Wessex Chambers’ Ladies Lunches, I Am Woman and Women Mean Biz to pull together a joint listings calendar, showing at a glance the wide range of events, seminars and activities across Swindon and Wiltshire.
There are no less than 17 events planned across Swindon and Wiltshire before Christmas, and already plans for 2015 include an International Women’s Day celebration organised by The Enterprise Network at Bowood House, Wiltshire on March 6.
Keynote speaker will be Jo Fairley, co-founder of the pioneering organic chocolate company Green & Black’s, which has gone from a niche organic and Fairtrade brand to a global chocolate name.
Rachel Sweet from Wiltshire Business Support Service said: “This is a very exciting time for women already doing business in Swindon and Wiltshire, and those thinking about starting an enterprise.
“Women-only business networks work extremely well, offering a supportive and inspiring environment, with women sharing ideas and learning from each other.”
Philippa Constable, who launched Women Mean Biz in 2008, said: “Women Mean Biz are delighted to be working closely with The Enterprise Network and Wiltshire Business Support Service to help promote the range of networking opportunities out there for businesswomen in Swindon and Wiltshire.
“We all have something different to offer and at Women Mean Biz, we help women in business build business relationships through authentic networking, provide professional and personal development, and ultimately help them to boost their business growth and profits.”
Cheryl Bass from I Am Woman added: “Women network so well together because they have a natural desire to build rapport quickly with people. When you add to that their programmed nurturing instincts then referring business becomes powerful, potent and second nature!”
