Businesses invited to reshape Swindon
Business leaders are being invited to help reshape Swindon – or at least find out how organisations are doing it on their behalf.
The Reshaping Swindon conference will hear from representatives from Influence – Swindon’s business voice – together with Forward Swindon and Swindon Borough Council.
The evening, hosted by Councillor David Renard, leader of Swindon Borough Council and Nicky Alberry, chairman of Influence, promises to give delegates a first-hand insight into the major projects and developments taking place in Swindon.
A series of short presentations will focus on how Swindon is in the process of change.
Ian Piper, chief executive of Forward Swindon will give an update on the regeneration projects in the town centre, followed by Deb Heenan of Swindon Borough Council, who will be focussing on the Wichelstowe development.
Paddy Bradley will update everyone on the progress of City Deal. Education and skills is also top of the agenda and delegates will hear the latest on the Employment and Skills Advisory Board from Mike Godfrey.
There will also be an update on the progress of the Swindon University Technical College
There will be a chance to ask questions, and to network. The free event is being held at Intel, Pipers Way, Swindon on Wednesday, September 18 from 5pm. To book a place log on to https://reshapingswindon.eventbrite.co.uk
