Businesses help dance company shine on emerald anniversary
Supporters and commercial backers of world-class dance company Swindon Dance gathered to celebrate its 35th anniversary this week.
Representatives from top Swindon firms including Monahans, John Lewis, Triumph-Adler, Priority IT and Tickets.com were treated to performances from some dance students and teachers at a reception at Swindon Town Hall – the dance company’s base – sponsored by Wiltshire’s Business of the Year, motor dealer Pebley Beach.
Addressing the assembled supporters, Kenneth Tharp, chief executive of the UK’s foremost centre for contemporary dance, The Place, said: ““Dance transforms lives in the most incredible way.”
After a reception the invitees were treated to an hour’s top quality performance from the young people who train at Swindon Dance.
Tracy Threlfall of Pebley Beach said: “It was a fantastic evening with great entertainment from such a talented group with dedication and passion that shines through in everyone’s performance.
“It was lovely to meet both the performers and the team behind them, who put in so much effort to ensure Swindon Dance continues to nurture and support talented young people.”
