Business Network International – the world’s largest referral organisation – has launched the latest of its 600-plus UK chapters in Marlborough.
Eight business leaders were at Ogbourne Downs Golf Club bright and early this morning (Friday) to establish the Merlin chapter of BNI.
Helping to launch the chapter was Peter Jones of The HR Dept in Swindon, director consultant of the BNI Somerset & Wiltshire region and a member of the West Swindon Chapter, which has grown from 12 members to 29 in a year, and passed £500,000 worth of business in referrals in the past 12 months.
Peter said he was confident that the success could be repeated in Marlborough, and several of the attendees at the meeting signed up immediately to become founding members, and to protect their place within the group – only one representative from each professional is allowed to join a BNI chapter.
The organisation aims to attract 20 members within 10 weeks, which would allow the group to launch as a full chapter before Christmas.
