Avon Protection lands $6.7 million US defence order
Avon Protection, the personal protection company which manufactures defence equipment for military, police, industrial and fire service personnel from its factory in Melksham, has received an order worth $6.7 million from the US Defense Logistics Agency, part of the US Department of Defense.
The company confirmed the order yesterday (Thursday) saying the manufacture of the Advanced Combat Helmet was undergoing “rigorous testing” and that the order positioned Avon Rubber as “the leading helmet supplier to the US Department of Defense.”
CEO Jos Sclater said: “We’re delighted to continue protecting U.S. military personnel with our advanced head protection solutions and look forward to continuing our long-standing partnership with this important customer.”
