Print specialist Bex reveals new management team
Calne-based industrial graphic and print specialist Bex Design & Print has announced a new management team to support the growth of the business.
Mel Conway, who has worked for Bex Design & Print for over 20 years, has been promoted to managing director.
Ed Giles, who has been with Bex for 14 years, is taking on the role of sales manager, having been promoted from his role as lead senior sales engineer.
Meanwhile Steve Murphy becomes the new head of production after over 15 years at Bex, having previously been the lead graphic designer.
Bex Design & Print provides industrial print and design services to a wide range of businesses in industries including electric vehicle (EV) charging, public transport, healthcare and traffic management. Established in 1987, the promotions come during a period of continued growth for the business.
In 2022 Bex became part of Amcomri Group Limited. The company also reached a major milestone in their work to help create EV charging stations for the UK and Europe – producing components for their 500,000th EV charging station.
Ian Board, chairman of the board at Bex Design & Print, said: “I am extremely proud to announce our new management team at Bex Design & Print.
“Mel, Ed and Steve are a credit to the company, and they have thoroughly earned their promotions. They have combined experience of around 50 years working at Bex, and they bring their immense experience and knowledge to their new roles.
“I cannot wait to see the successes they will undoubtedly have in the new positions, and I have no doubt that our colleagues and clients alike will continue to enjoy excellent relationships with them.
“Bex is growing as a company and, with our new management team now in place, there are exciting times ahead.”
Mel said: “Having been at Bex for 20 years, I am honoured to be leading the team in this new chapter.
“Over my years with Bex I have gained lots of experience in various roles and gained an extensive knowledge of our processes and procedures through my role as the Internal ISO auditor. I hope to use my knowledge and experience to continue the growth and success of Bex Design & Print in the future.
“We never stand still and continue to invest in new technologies so there is always something new that we can offer to clients. We strive to produce excellent quality products and proudly maintain our reputation within the industry.
“A big part of our success is our loyal staff – we have good staff retention and that brings with it lots of knowledge and skills within the factory enabling our output to be of the highest standard.
“Bex evolves with the times and I am proud that every year is a bit different from one year to the next. I’m looking forward to developing with the company even further in this new role.”
Ed said: “I’m proud to be part of the new management team here at Bex working alongside some fantastic colleagues.
“We’re growing a lot as a company, investing in the latest technology and expanding into some exciting new areas within different industries, so we’re looking forward to a bright future.
“In my new role as Sales Manager I’ll be working with both new and existing customers, identifying their needs and working with them to deliver bespoke, on-time solutions.”
Steve said: “My role has expanded during my time here, so I’m not just a graphic designer any more, and I am honoured to now become head of production.
“I love the team and working with everyone here at Bex. A lot of us have been here for a long time, so we’re like one big family and it’s a great working environment.”
