Law firm Gardner Leader appoints new finance director as a part of its sustainable growth plans
Thames Valley law firm Gardner Leader has appointed David Beckwith as its finance director, marking another significant step in the firm’s sustainable growth plans.
Gardner Leader has been at the heart of the Berkshire community for over 120 years, with offices in Newbury, Thatcham and Maidenhead.
It has gone on to triple in size over the last 10 years, expanding across the South of England, with offices in London, Windsor and, more recently, Swindon, following its merger last year with standout commercial, corporate and real estate solicitors, Clark Holt.
The partnership has further strengthened Gardner Leader’s services to businesses, to compete against larger regional and city law firms.
With more than 180 employees, working across 12 specialist teams, the firm now reports revenues of over £11 million.
David will focus on driving sustainable growth across the firm’s practice areas, as it continues to cement its position as one of the leading law firms in the Thames Valley area.
Working closely with the senior management team, David will oversee the strategic and financial direction of the firm, a position he has extensive experience in. Having spent 30 years working in finance roles, David has worked for global corporations and enterprises in the professional services and technology sectors, notably PwC, Tyco, Atos and most recently Smith & Williamson/Evelyn Partners.
David said: “Since joining Gardner Leader, I’ve been hugely impressed by the team’s level of passion and commitment to helping clients. It’s clearly a firm that punches above its weight and lives and breathes its values as an organisation people want to work with, all of which is driving its continuous success.
“I’m delighted to be a part of the firm’s future, helping to reinforce its strong competitive positioning in the Thames Valley and beyond.”
Derek Rodgers, managing partner at Gardner Leader, added: “Our firm is three times the size it was ten years ago and we want to continue on the path of prudent but ambitious growth. David’s vast experience is perfect for driving the finance strategy we need to support the firm on its growth trajectory. We’re really excited to have him on the team.”
