Goughs Solicitors welcomes new trainee solicitors
Law firm Goughs Solicitors has welcomed two new trainee solicitors – Casey Gilroy and Harriet Pestille.
Goughs has made a particular effort to encourage young talent and ways into qualification, including recruiting two new solicitor apprenticeships in addition to trainees.
Following growth of the business, the total number of trainees at Goughs is now at seven, which is the highest number in recent years.
And recruitment for trainees is still ongoing due to the high sector demands.
Harriet (left) has a background in private client work, having worked as a paralegal for three years in both trusts & estates and education.
She also has experience in compliance which has enabled her to have a strong foundation in business and the legal sector generally.
“I am so excited to be starting my training contract with Goughs. I am looking forward to my first seat with the private client team in Corsham who have an excellent reputation in the area and I can’t wait to take part,” said Harriet.
“Being passionate about the local area generally, I liked that Goughs is a big player in its sectors whilst maintaining strong ties to the community.”
Casey (right) has successfully completed her legal practice course and Masters in law at the University of Swansea with distinctions this summer and is ready to begin her career with Goughs.
“Starting as a trainee with Goughs is a dream come true. What drew me to Goughs was its diverse range of practice areas and the importance placed on personal development within the firm. From day one the Goughs team were incredibly friendly and helpful.
“I will be doing my first seat with the Residential Property team which is an area I am keen to experience.”
For the first time, Goughs has arranged for the trainees to spend their first few weeks in their accounts and marketing teams which will enable them to have a solid understanding of how the business operates and gain crucial commercial awareness before they begin their legal training.
Goughs has offices in Calne, Chippenham, Corsham, Devizes, Melksham, and Trowbridge.
